The launch of the high-speed line Tours – Bordeaux planned for 2017 has placed the modernization and expansion of Bordeaux’s station Saint-Jean into the focus of the structural development concepts of the Bordeaux metropolitan region.
During construction, the access corridors leading to the subway stations partially sank in (numerous holes in the concrete). In view of the risk of injury to passengers, these hazardous areas had to be repaired as quickly as possible. The works were only possible at night during the station’s closing hours (0:00 to 05:00). A fast and long-lasting solution was required. SNCF decided to use the Rapid Set repair mortar CEMENT ALL, a material providing the required criteria – fast-setting, low shrinkage, durable and easy to work with.
The repair works could be completed within two weeks and the client was highly satisfied with the result.
