Since early November 2011 students at the University Amberg-Weiden can dine, discuss, and sojourn in the new cafeteria of the modern campus. At the official opening ceremony the Bavarian State Minister for Federal and European Affairs, Emilia Müller, handed over the keys to the president of the university “The construction investment of totally 6,75 Millions Euro from the economic stimulus program II of the Free State of Bavaria and the Federal Government, in the new cafeteria and the library at the University Weiden are an outstanding milestone for the university and educational location Oberpfalz, providing a real added value for students and all university members” so the Minister of State, Emilia Müller.
The modern architecture of the cafeteria also convinces by the artful change of concrete and wood, in particular the floor. On an area of approx. 500 m² the KORODUR decorative floor KCF 05 in colour anthracite was installed in a layer thickness of in middle 15 mm on set cement-screed. In order to give the smoothed decorative screed, in the true sense of the word, a so-called finishing touch, a surface finish (special grinding) in the KOROCLEAN procedure was carried out. The stair steps, however, were polished in GRANIDUR texture. Now 180 students at the same time can dine in the large cafeteria – and this in a unique architectural environment.
