The inauguration ceremony of the new Jura-Werkstätten in Amberg took place in April 2018. Also involved in this construction project was the local building materials specialist KORODUR as supplier of industrial flooring materials.
The new building spreads over an area of around 18.000 m². The dimensions of the new facilities reflect also the great importance Amberg attaches to the inclusion of people with disabilities. The main section covers an area of 8.800 m², of which approx. 4.500 m² are workshop and storage areas. On these areas a heavy-duty KORODUR industrial floor, NEODUR HE 65, was installed as hard-wearing topping using KORODUR HB 5 bonding compound for bond between the base concrete and the 15 mm thick KORODUR hard aggregate topping.
Afterwards the flooring surface was slightly polished in the KOROCLEAN process and treated with KOROMINERAL impregnation (silicifying). This provides optical enhancement of the surface and allows easier cleaning and protection against contamination. Finally, the area was submitted to basic cleaning and maintenance treated with the product OBTEGO R 400.
In the new Jura-Werkstätten 355 people with disabilities find ideal room and work conditions for their needs.
