The Berlin Olympic Stadium, a first-class address for multifunctional sport arenas in Germany, was refurbished under the aspect of monument preservation issues. Demanded was a split between the requirements of a modern sports arena and big money involving show productions on the one side and on the other the requirements of architectural conservation in respect of the historical monument.

To adapt the optics of several flooring areas of the Olympic stadium, constructed beginning of the 20th century, the responsible parties decided for the interior refurbishment to install on a surface of approx. 3.000 m² the timelessly beautiful GRANIDUR design floor in anthracite colour tone.
