Just in time before Christmas the new subway station Breslauer Platz, after several years of construction, was taken into operation in December 2011.
Passengers, leaving the subway for the first time in the new station, will be pleasantly surprised by the vastness of the new station, of the clarity and also the brightness of this 4.800 m² large station, about 8 m below ground. From the platform level the parking spaces can be easily reached in elevators or using numerous stairs and escalators to head in direction of the train station, Eigelstein or the Kuniberts quarter.
The passengers of the Cologne subway set their sight on this unique GRANIDUR design floor, polished, wear-resistant, based on KORODUR VS 0/5 hard aggregates.
The Transport Service AG of Cologne, as builder owner of the North-South city subway and operator of the station Breslauer Platz, estimates a daily passenger volume of approx. 15.000 people. Considering this high frequentation, the owner and the planner deliberately have opted for the wear-resistant KORODUR design floor, also in terms of design, durability and economy.
